The team run benefits checks and help people to complete the relevant forms to access all the benefits they are entitled to. They provide advice on staying warm and safe at home, how to access care and what care options are available to them, support finding and accessing suitable housing, advice on pension entitlements, and more. The team will also signpost people to other organisations where appropriate and can provide written resources for people to understand their options in particular circumstances, such as a recent dementia diagnosis. They also support relatives and carers of local older people who are unable to comprehend the information for themselves.
