Our Learning Disability Outreach (LDO) project can help with confidence, skill development and with building friendships and social networks.
Our team offers mentoring, advocacy, employment guidance, literacy classes, health and well-being activities, workshops and social events. We develop lasting and constructive relationships with our clients and their carers and aim to improve the quality of life of the people who work with us.
Learning Disability Outreach and most of its activities are free to people with learning disabilities aged 16 and over who live in or are funded by the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.
A parent’s perspective
“Adam has attended The Creighton Centre for over 20 years. The project has played a major role in supporting him through adult life and helping him become who he is today. Your project reaches people who struggle with more formal or structured services and allows them to grow at their own pace without pressure, providing activities, friendships, practical support and, most importantly, a sense of belonging and connection.
_ For people like Adam, who can find larger or noisier environments overwhelming, this type of flexible and understanding support is incredibly rare and precious. The project gives him structure and meaning to his week and helps prevent the isolation he would otherwise experience._
_ LDO supports people who often ‘slip through the net’ of more formal services but are frequently those most in need. It is a vital lifeline not only for the individuals who attend, but also for their families and carers. We would be lost without you!”_

“The project helped me to volunteer, I like helping people, it gives me a sense of joy that I’ve helped somebody to do something and it leaves a big smile on my face”

“The project has been very helpful, good and supportive. It helped me to get my job that I really wanted, working as a carer. They help me do my training, we have learnt about dementia and safeguarding together and they are always there if I need anything.”
