Hammersmith and Fulham Advocacy Network (HFAN)

Hammersmith and Fulham's Independent Advocacy service provider for adults. HFAN provide a voice for vulnerable adults undergoing processes or decisions, and support people to make their wishes and feelings known in matters which may affect their lives.

HFAN is a partnership between H&F's already established independent advocacy providers, Libra Partnership (statutory advocacy such as IMHA, IMCA, DoLS and Care Act advocacy) and HF Mencap (community advocacy).

Independent Advocacy support is free. An advocate is always on your side, and works with you, not for you.

People can self refer for:

  • IMHA (Independent Mental Health Advocacy),

  • Independent Health Complaints Advocacy (NHS complaints)

  • Community Advocacy - (some eligibility criteria applies for this support)

  • Professionals must refer you in to our service for:

  • IMCA (Independent Mental Capacity Advocay)

  • Care Act Advocacy (Speak with your social worker if you feel you need to be supported through a process such as a Care Review or s42 safeguarding enquiry.)

  • DoLS and Community DoLS

(eligibility applies for all of these type of support).
