Hammersmith United Charities provides sheltered housing for older people from Hammersmith. We operate two almshouses, John Betts House and Sycamore House both with award winning gardens.

What is this service?

We provide sheltered housing in Hammersmith with beautiful, award-winning gardens. You’ll enjoy:

  • Affordable living. monthly charge plus utilities and council tax. We accept housing benefit and universal credit payments. 

  • Help to keep you well. Your friendly on-site manager offers daily welfare checks, should you want them  

  • Easy access. Adapted buildings easy for you to get around in. Wheel-chair accessible flats available. 

  • Stay local. Near bus routes, shops and all the health and community services you are familiar with. 

  • Social activities. Join in as much or as little as you like with coffee mornings, activities, and trips.  

  • Independent living. With your own front door, you can come and go as you please. 

  • Communal areas. Including shared lounges and beautiful gardens, internet access, laundry and a guest flat for family & friends.
