Maggie’s provides an evidence-based programme of psychological, social and practical support to people with cancer and their families. Our programme is provided free of charge, and we welcome anyone affected by cancer, at any stage of their journey, for as long as they need us.
Our programme includes:
Cancer support - delivered specifically by our Cancer Support Specialists to provide advice, clarity and reassurance and reduce worries and anxiety
Psychological support – one to one, couple and family sessions with qualified experts who help visitors address complex, emotional challenges,
Support and networking groups - facilitated by a member of our expert team to ensure all those who attend benefit from the time, space, and experience
Courses – these focus on specific situations such as the beginning or end of treatment, mindfulness, stress and concentration
Benefits advice – individual, couple and family support provided by one of our Benefits Advisors who identifies what help is available and assists with accessing this as well as representing those who may have been turned down for help
Other activities– these can include yoga, nutrition or tai chi to support general well-being or activities to help people express themselves such as creative writing or expressive art
We know that if someone is helped to live well with cancer, it will improve their physical and mental recovery, and looking ahead they will prosper.
